"Led by founder member / vocalist Ray Owen (a contemporary of Jimi
Hendrix) who had previously fronted the cult band The Misunderstood, Juicy Lucy originally became the home for the best British rock blues players in the late 60's and early 70's. Kokomo guitarist Neil Hubbard and Whitesnake's axe man Micky Moody were in the ranks at different times and the band enjoyed a top 20 hit with Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love' – a song they still perform to this day. Juicy Lucy also enjoyed chart albums like 'Lie Back & Enjoy It' and 'Get A Whiff of This' that formed the basis of a cracking live band.
The band eventually called it a day in 1972, but in the intervening years they were
still played on American Classic rock and FM radio stations, as well as having Who
Do You Love featured on nearly 200 compilation releases, and so the band's name lived
on. In partnership with guitarist Mr. Fish, Ray Owen picked up the reins again in
1995 and they have carried on with the current and arguably the best ever line-
The current band features fiery guitarist Mr. Fish as well as the peerless rhythm section of Fletch and Fudge. In 2007 the band triumphed in front of the 4000 strong audience at the Cambridge Rock Festival and continues to tour behind the current CD, 'Do That & You'll Lose It".
